Carman never seemed to have the gift of the glamour, and the grace of the tease, so its pretty lucky her ideas never called for this!  She was drawn to comedy, parody and creating something accesible and entertaining. Instead of creating an image of untouchable beauty and grace she chose to use her burlesque to create something we can all understand. Routines that point fun at human nature and pop culturein fasical situations featuring ridiculous characters. However... that might all be a very clever sounding excuse to make alot of mess...
